Born in Havana, Cuba " Emi " as his family and close friends call him, could be seen as early as age three carrying a box of crayons all around the house marking anything he could get his little hands on, including furniture and walls. His first art teacher was his father, whom would have to draw all kinds of different things to entertain young Emilio in order to get him to eat his dinner.
At age twelve, together with his mother and older sister, he immigrated to the United States in search of freedom and a better life. Those early years in a new country and away from his Father were very difficult, but with the loving support of his family, Emilio adjusted and thrived; happily embracing this great country and becoming a contributing member of the Cuban American community. He went on to graduate from LaSalle High School, where he often took the lead in creative projects, lending his time and artistic talents to support school and church activities.
Later, he earned a BA in Computer Graphics from International Fine Arts College, landing a job with ABC affiliate WPLG Channel 10 shortly thereafter. Following a couple of years of working with some of South Florida's finest TV people, he was hired by The Walt Disney Company to lead a team of talented broadcast designers in the launching of the first ever Disney Channel in Latin America. Five years later, following a very successful run with the "Mouse", and with an array of top industry honors and prestigious awards under his belt, He opened his very own motion design studio in 2003. This was a dream come true, giving him the opportunity to collaborate with some of TV & Film industry's elite; including Disney, Discovery, DirecTV, HBO, MTV Latino, Nickelodeon, Telemundo among others.
Presently, Emilio splits his time between New York, Miami, and Los Angeles collaborating on all kinds of cool projects including television and film projects. Also, promoting his art along with his very own clothing line, constantly challenging and pushing himself to new heights, as he firmly believes that the evolution of an artist, and specially that of a human being is never truly complete.
...including Original Art by Emi, along with Limited Edition Apparel, Collectible Giclees & Art Prints, and much more!
